Vacation 2008 (and 2007, too)

OK, now that I'm back in the swing of things, there are several new additions to our flickr photo stream. First, I uploaded photos from our 2008 vacation to the 1,000 Islands - we spent 4th of July week with family. This year we saw the above brilliant double rainbow after what I think was the most severe storm I have ever seen up there. Not only that, but now online are our 2007 vacation photos from visiting Amanda in San Francsico. Please enjoy!

Peru party

So, last night Chris and I attended a party celebrating our friend's return from Peru. Robert (singing) played a short set with a friend, and as prizes he threw out these adorable handmade finger puppets he got while there. Chris named his chicken Cluckster and my lion is named Murph - they both enjoyed the show, too!

Happy Anniversary

Well, I'm SO excited! Chris took me to get a digital camera tonight, in time for our vacation to the 1,000 Islands this week. I am thrilled and am hopeful we'll have more activity and more pictures on this blog soon.

Chincoteague, VA

So, just got back from a road trip with my Aunt Peggy down to Chincoteague, VA to surprise my Mom for her 60th birthday! Chris could not come because he's in a show, and my brother didn't end up making it either. Although there was some trouble figuring out where everyone was going to stay at the beginning, the four of us ended up in a two bedroom condo at this wonderful place - the Waterside Inn. My favorite part was cocktails Sunday evening at the end of this dock, watching the sun set. We also had a great time visiting Assateague Island to see the wild ponies and the wildlife refuge there. I'd go back in a heartbeat, and I hope Chris gets the chance to see this place soon! Also, Peggy made a surprise video of pictures of my Mom from when she was a little girl to the present - it was totally the BEST - contained pictures of my Mom none of us had ever seen. So cool...

The great typewriter search

So, of course, its been ages since I've posted last. Funny how that works. Chris is in final rehearsals for his play True West. I have been chasing down typewriters on ebay and in Philadelphia for days now - its been nuts. Today I took the subway down from work to meet with Charles Kerrigan of Kerrigan Office Machine Company - he is donating a bunch of machines to us - check out his store and someone else's description and pictures of the shop:www.uwishunu.com/2007/02/08/the-kerrigan-office-machine-company-a-photo-diary/

Photos uploaded

I've just spent the past 2 hours uploading pictures to our flickr account. I'm hoping as I learn the system and the shortcuts, the time I have to devote to this will decrease. I went ahead and splurged for a 2 year deal with them so we could have essentially unlimited server space to share all the photos we have. I have grouped some of the pictures, but not all, so be sure to figure out how to view everything. The way the groups are posting is in reverse order, too - i.e. Bellagio was our first stop, not our last. Also, I'm not even close to uploading everything, so please check back for more. Email or comment with any questions and I'll try to clarify!

Here we go...

I have to say I never thought we'd get here, but heck, here we are! I realized while writing thank you notes after our wedding there was no easy way to give everyone the total update on the honeymoon unless we found a way to post all the pictures online. But, what are the pictures without the stories? Sarabeth and her family use this as a way to communicate with the outside world, so I figured we'd try, too. Let's see how it goes...
